2013 ACDHH ADVOCATE AWARD

ABOUT ARIZONA COMMISSION FOR THE DEAF AND THE HARD OF HEARING (ACDHH):

Established in 1977 to improve the quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing residents, ACDHH serves as a statewide information referral center for issues related to people with hearing loss and aspires to be a national leader in communication access, support services and community empowerment throughout the state. The purpose of the organization, and its commissioners, is to ensure, in partnership with the public and private sector, accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing to improve their quality of life.

 

35th ANNIVERSARY

To commemorate the agency’s 35th anniversary we will be honoring four advocates in our state.  Nominations are being accepted until February 28, 2013.

 

 

 

2013 ACDHH ADVOCATE AWARD

 

Arizona Commission for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing is looking to honor four outstanding advocates, two agencies and two individuals, at its 35th Anniversary Celebration.

  • The 2013 Advocate Award will recognize individuals and/or organizations that have made positive contributions to the deaf and hard of hearing community in Arizona through awareness, contributions and dedication.

 

Guidelines for nomination:

  • May be nominated by self, friend or relative (see application)
  • Honorees will receive recognition, and their “story” may be read as part of the 35th celebration on March 20, 2013. .

 

Honorees will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Display of volunteerism for awareness and the community
  • Role model for other advocates and/or community
  • Determination/perseverance
