HB 2225 (Barto) - Speech-Language Pathologists; Assistants. Speech-Language Pathologists; Assistants. Passed 3rd read unanimously with a vote of 59-0-1. Has been transferred to the Senate. Monitoring this bill as it changes licensing requirements for hearing aid dispensers, speech pathology and audiologists.
SB1060 (S. Allen) – Special Education; group B weights. Transferred to House. Waiting for First and Second Read. Monitoring this bill as it will increase funding formula for D/HH/DB students in special education programs.
SB 2536 (Shah) -- Telemedicine; healthcare providers. ACDHH supports the inclusion of hearing aid dispensers, audiologists, and speech pathologists to the definitions of healthcare providers under the state’s telemedicine law. However, ACDHH believes telemedicine policies should have technological criteria requirements ensuring telemedicine is fully accessible for all Arizonan’s. We are reviewing our next steps on this bill.
